Sons of The American Legion to host $10K cash party, giveaway Nov. 7 in Centre Hall

CENTRE HALL-- Sons of The American Legion (SAL) Squadron 779 will sponsor a
$10,000 giveaway and cash party on Saturday, Nov. 7, at the American Legion Post 779, 2928 Penns Valley Pike, Centre Hall.
Members of the public are invited to attend this non-smoking event, which runs from 1 to 6 p.m., with doors opening at noon. Attendees can enjoy the opportunity to win a $250 cash prize drawing every 15 minutes and a $500 giveaway on the hour. During the final hour, larger prizes of up to $1,999 will be awarded.
Tickets are $50 each and include a buffet, snacks and drinks. Only 325 tickets will be sold.
Throughout the afternoon, participants may play raffles and rip tickets. The event concludes with a lucky chance auction. A card-game raffle will feature two collector firearms: a commemorative Silver Eagle Henry rifle and a commemorative Sig Sauer handgun.

SAL Squadron 779 is affiliated with Smith-Pletcher American Legion Post 779. Proceeds from this event will benefit Penns Valley area veterans' causes, Penns Valley Area School District sports teams, Little League/youth baseball, area food pantries and Penns Valley Area youth programs.
Last year, Sons of The American Legion (SAL) Squadron 779 directed more than $18,000 to these causes and organizations. In addition to funding veterans' causes, the Squadron contributed $7,538 to Penns Valley sports teams, $4,000 to Little League and youth baseball programs, $2,000 to local food pantries and support to additional youth programs. These donations reflect the squadron's ongoing commitment to strengthening the community it serves.
Squadron 779 of the Sons of the American Legion has more than 250 members and is comprised of the sons and grandsons (including adopted sons and stepsons) of American military veterans eligible for membership in The American Legion.
Nationally, the Sons of The American Legion was established in 1932 as a program of The American Legion. It unites descendants of veterans who served honorably during periods of eligibility as defined by The American Legion. With hundreds of thousands of members across the United States and abroad, the SAL works alongside the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Legion Riders as part of the larger Legion family. Its core mission focuses on supporting veterans and their families, promoting patriotism and Americanism and advancing programs that benefit the nation's youth. Local squadrons enjoy flexibility to address the specific needs of their communities while upholding these shared principles.
Through these contributions, Squadron 779 continues to honor the service of veterans by investing in the next generation and strengthening the fabric of Penns Valley.
