UNIVERSITY PARK -- Silage, dairy and livestock producers have the chance to gain practical, research-based guidance on every step of corn silage production by attending webinars hosted by Penn State Extension in October through March 2026.
The "Managing Corn Silage for Profit" series, all occurring from noon to 2 p.m., will include the following webinars:
-- "Hybrid Selection," Oct. 22. Explore strategies to boost corn silage yield, quality and profitability with insights on hybrid selection, PDMP trial data and agronomic best practices.
-- "Silage Fermentation," Dec. 3. Gain practical tools to interpret forage analysis reports and evaluate silage additives, helping preserve quality and boost profitability in corn silage production.
-- "Forage Quality Reports," Jan. 28, 2026. Learn to interpret forage quality reports, assess hybrid performance and optimize silage nutrition to boost profitability in corn silage production.
-- "Mycotoxin Management," Feb. 25, 2026. Uncover agronomic and nutritional strategies to manage molds and mycotoxins in corn silage, safeguarding forage quality, livestock health and profitability for Pennsylvania producers.
-- "Machinery Preparation," March 25, 2026. Learn silo safety and machinery preparation to ensure timely planting, quality forage and profitable corn silage production.
Participants can earn certified crop advisor credits from the American Society of Agronomy for attending certain webinars.
Each webinar carries a registration fee of $10. Registration deadlines vary by event. Registration is required to receive links to access the webinars.
A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. Participants can access the recording for six months from the event date.
