Community invited to Mental Health Awareness Night on May 7 in Williamsport
WILLIAMSPORT — The community is invited to come together for an evening of hope, connection and support at the 1st Annual Mental Health Awareness Night on Thursday, May 7, from 5-7 p.m. at Shaw Park.
This free, family-friendly event, sponsored by Community Care Behavioral Health Organization and Lycoming-Clinton Joinder Board Behavioral HealthChoices, is hosted by Skills of Central PA in collaboration with mental health providers throughout Clinton and Lycoming counties. Centered around the theme “Together We Are One,” the event will celebrate recovery, promote mental wellness, and highlight the importance of community support.
State Representative Jamie Flick will open the evening with remarks.
Attendees can enjoy music, free food, giveaways, and a variety of family-friendly activities. In addition, more than 10 local mental health providers will be on-site, offering information about services, answering questions and connecting individuals and families with valuable resources.
Organizers hope the event will not only raise awareness but also create a welcoming space where community members feel encouraged to learn more about mental health and access support when needed.
“This event is about bringing people together,” said Derick Burns, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for Skills of Central PA. “Whether you are looking for resources, supporting a loved one, or simply want to be part of a positive and uplifting experience, everyone is welcome.”
Mental Health Awareness Night is open to the public and no registration is required.
