Lock Haven- Lock Haven Hospital and Haven Surgical Associates to announce the addition of general surgeon, David Rilling, M.D.

Dr. Rilling is board certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia and served his residency at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington. Dr. Rilling joins Lock Haven Hospital from Grand View Hospital in Sellersville where at various times he served as president of the medical staff, chairman of the department of surgery and director of the vascular lab.

“With Dr. Rilling’s arrival, we continue the process of growth and quality improvement of the services we provide,” said Steven Davis, interim chief executive officer, Lock Haven Hospital. “Dr. Rilling’s extensive experience in general and thoracic surgery will make him a valuable addition to Lock Haven Hospital and to the community.”

Scope of Practice

Dr. Rilling’s scope of surgical practice includes: laparoscopic, colorectal, gastrointestinal, thyroid and parathyroid, hernia, breast, pulmonary, open vascular and permanent pacemaker surgery. Dr. Rilling holds the distinction of being one of the first surgeons to successfully re-attach an arm that had been severed at the shoulder back in 1977.
