LOCK HAVEN -- Tara Bardo-Walters, CNA, Haven Place, part of UPMC Senior Communities in North Central Pa., was recently recognized with the BEE Award for her outstanding support of the nursing team.

The BEE Award, meaning Be Extraordinary Every Day, recognizes the care team that supports nursing staff and works closely with them to provide patients with the compassion and care they need.

Tara was nominated by a resident's husband who shared:

"Tara has done an exceptional job with the care of my husband. She has taken him under her wing and made his transition to long-term care much easier for both him and the family. Tara does a fantastic job at being able to manage his behaviors and being able to keep him focused and remain on task. My husband enjoys it when Tara is working and looks forward to being able to visit and interact with her. He tells me she takes good care of him. Tara will go out of her way to make sure he is comfortable, and his needs are met. Because of this, my family and I are able to not worry about my husband's quality of care, as we know Tara is by his side and part of his care team. Tara's compassion and dedication show every day."
