Geisinger hospitals named in Forbes Top Hospitals by State list

JERSEY SHORE -- Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital (GJSH) has been ranked among the best in the state in a recent evaluation by Forbes. The Geisinger Hospital received a 5-star evaluation, placing it at the top of the list for the state of Pennsylvania.
Out of approximately 5,400 facilities evaluated, only 259 earned the top mark of 5 stars. The Top Hospitals rating scores acute-care facilities on a scale of 1 to 5 stars based on an assessment of four categories: patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value and patient experience. Forbes gathers data for these categories from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Provider Data Catalog (PDC). The categories are weighted at 55 percent, 20 percent, 15 percent and 10 percent, respectively.

Along with GJSH, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Geisinger Lewistown Hospital and Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center were also rated 5 stars.
