MUNCY -- Whether you're heading into the woods this hunting season or enjoying the outdoors with family and friends, Geisinger cardiology invites men and women to take charge of their health at a Hunter's Health Fair on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Geisinger Medical Center Muncy, 255 U.S. 220.

The event aims to help hunters and outdoor enthusiasts prepare for a safe, healthy season by providing health screenings and education on:

-- Heart, vein and blood pressure screenings

-- Glaucoma testing

-- Hernia checks

-- Balance, memory and grip strength assessments

-- Trauma and stroke prevention

-- Pulmonology and sleep health

-- Audiology services

-- Mammography scheduling and breast health information

"Most hunters spend time getting their gear ready for the season, but it's just as important to make sure your health is ready, too," said George Ruiz, M.D., chair of cardiology at Geisinger. "Whether you're hiking through rough terrain, hauling equipment or spending long days outdoors, hunting can put extra demands on your body. This event gives people a chance to check in on their health, ask questions and address any concerns before the season begins."

Registration is required, and appointments are limited. To reserve a spot, visit geisinger.org/events.
