At DAP, helping individuals navigate investing and retirement planning is at the heart of what they do. Their team works closely with clients to design personalized retirement strategies based on individual needs and circumstances. From building wealth during working years to managing income throughout retirement, DAP supports clients every step of the way. They also offer Retirement Transition Services to assist individuals moving from active employment into retirement, along with guidance on individual health insurance and Medicare options.
DAP’s mission is rooted in experience and stability. As stated in their mission, they provide “experienced retirement planning through processes that have been tested by time in any market,” striving to bring clients financial confidence during uncertain times and remove the stress from financial decision-making.
Conveniently located in downtown Lock Haven at 126 E. Main Street, with a second office in State College at 1524 W. College Avenue, DAP has built a strong regional presence.
“DAP brings nearly 40 years of financial services experience, including 20 years serving the Lock Haven community,” Malek shared. “We’re excited about the future. Our firm includes nine planners, a junior planner and six assistants, and we manage over $1 billion in client assets.”
The firm provides a wide range of services, including retirement and investment planning, individual savings strategies, life insurance and small business retirement plans. Many clients seek guidance after changing jobs and needing help with retirement plan rollovers, or when they are preparing to retire and evaluating pensions or employer-sponsored 401(k) plans.
DAP operates primarily through client referrals and emphasizes personalized service. Each financial plan is customized because every client’s goals and life circumstances are different. Private, one-on-one meetings ensure that sensitive financial matters and significant life transitions are handled with care and confidentiality.
According to DAP’s website, service is their greatest strength. The team prioritizes clients in all market conditions, carefully monitoring economic trends and offering thoughtful, balanced recommendations designed to protect and grow wealth responsibly.
Beyond managing investments, DAP focuses on education. Their goal is to help clients better understand financial concepts such as insurance, investing, retirement planning, estate strategies and wealth preservation. They believe that informed clients are empowered clients — and that working with knowledgeable professionals can help uncover opportunities and long-term rewards through proactive planning.
“We’re here to educate investors on the fundamentals of financial management, introduce them to who we are, and provide easy access to helpful market information,” Malek said. DAP’s website offers planning definitions, financial calculators, informative articles and videos designed to help individuals navigate a wide range of financial situations.
Community involvement is also a cornerstone of DAP’s values. “We’re very community-oriented,” Malek noted. “We proudly support organizations like the Clinton County United Way, Leadership Clinton County, Millbrook Playhouse, numerous local golf tournaments, adopt-a-family programs during the holidays and local sports teams.”
