luncheon thanks Vietnam vets
Downtown Lock Haven Inc. Manager Natasha Gorham, left, accepts a $2,500 donation to the Hometown Heroes Program from the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 100 of Lock Haven. Representing the lodge are Brendan Ryan, center, lodge governor, and Gary Weaver, junior past governor. Right and below, Vietnam veterans are served during the luncheon which was given by the lodge in its family center on Hanna Street. Downtown Lock Haven Inc. organized it in coordination with the Hometown Heroes Ceremony held at the J. Doyle Corman Amphitheatre on Saturday, and Team RWB volunteers were on hand to help serve. “This is the commemorative year for Vietnam, so we wanted to do something special for them,” Gorham explained. “We just want to say thank you.” Clinton County Veterans’ Affairs Director Bill Bechdel spoke briefly and described a symbolic table marked for those soldiers who became Prisoners of War (POWs) or went Missing in Action (MIA).
