Book signing Saturday with Donna Clemente

Donna Clemente

RENOVO — The Renovo Area Public Library will be hosting a book signing with author Donna Clemente on Saturday Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Clemente will be signing copies of her book “To Prove Them Innocent.”

The author’s memoir is a first-hand account of how she and her friend Neady Sockman spearheaded a campaign to free three innocent men from Renovo who were wrongfully convicted of rape.

Dorrance Publishing, who released the book, noted that Clemente and Sockman were two housewives that took on the Lycoming County courts and after enlisting 20/20 producer Rob Wallace into their plight would see the men walk free following a national outcry.

The library decided to hold the book signing after the story about the book appeared in The Express last week and people immediately began calling the library asking questions about the book and author.

Clemente will have a limited number of books for sale and time permitting will discuss her book with those attending.

Donna and her husband Tom were born and raised their two children Tiffany and Josh in Renovo before moving to the Lock Haven area in 2002.
