HARRISBURG -- School safety grants totalling about $53.7 million were awarded for 524 projects throughout the state in the current round of funding.
The funding was approved by the School Safety and Security Committee within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
School districts and entities in our area that will receive grants include:
--Keystone Central School District -- $45,000.
--Bellefonte Area School District -- $40,000.
-- Bald Eagle Area School District -- $35,000.
-- Penns Valley Area School District -- $35,000.
-- Jersey Shore Area School District -- $40,000.
-- Coudersport Area School District -- $30,000.
The funding was made available to every school district across Pennsylvania to be used toward security measures deemed most critical. A 17-member committee within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency was created as part of Act 44 of 201, a comprehensive school safety law.
