Clinton County township officials plan convention
DUNNSTOWN — The Clinton County Association of Township Officials 108th annual convention is scheduled for Saturday, April 25. The Dunnstown Fire Company will be hosting the convention using their facility and providing the meal this year at 119 Woodward Ave.
The purpose of the annual convention is to provide township officials with up to date information to help them better serve their constituents and give them an opportunity to exchange ideas on local government issues.
The convention will feature a wide range of speakers including PSATS, Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors. The topics scheduled for the program are growing concerns for navigating the medial marijuana maze. Township zoning ordinances should accommodate medical marijuana facilities now that they are a state recognized land use. There will be a question and answer session for this. And also the subject of fire taxes in the townships due to volunteer fire companies struggle to keep the general finance operations flowing.
The doors will open at 5 p.m. There will be business vendors providing information and displays, raffle drawings, 50/50, informational presenters and good food. The evening will consist of a picnic meal followed by a short business meeting, brief speakers and prizes. We are requesting a non-refundable dinner reservation for all attendees with payment of $20.00 per person.
