Lycoming Co. Landfill re-opens to public

Wayne Twp. Landfill in Clinton County remains closed

WILLIAMSPORT -- Lycoming County Landfill and Transfer Station will reopen to the public beginning today, for waste only.

The facility will also be open on Saturdays again, according to a release from the Lycoming County Resource Management Services.

With the re-opening comes the following rules:

-- Landfill employees will not handle waste.

-- Customers must unload their own waste.

-- Custoemrs are requested to wear safety masks while on site.

-- Appliances, TV's, computers and tires will still be accepted as they were prior to the shutdown.

The Lycoming County Landfill, located on Alexander Drive in Montgomery, is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. The Lycoming County Transfer Station on West Third Street in Williamsport is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon.

Recycling operations remain shutdown until further notice.

In Clinton County, the Wayne Township Landfill remains closed. Officials there will be reconsidering the closure at the end of the month.
