Clinton County offers services for Conservation District Week

LOCK HAVEN — The Pennsylvania State Senate and the House of Representatives declared May 3-9 as “Conservation District Week.” During this week, district offices across the state would normally hold events and meet with legislators in their home county and in the State’s Capitol.

Each county has a conservation district office except Philadelphia. These volunteer directors and staff live and work in your community. They address local conservation problems. These are your neighbors who are working to prevent pollution. That deserves to be celebrated!

“Conservation District Week is an opportunity to showcase conservation district projects,” said Brenda J. Shambaugh, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts. “District staff work every day to improve the lives of our Commonwealth’s citizens.” Conservation districts thank Governor Tom Wolf and members of the PA House and Senate for supporting the districts through the state budget.

The Clinton County Conservation District offers the following services:

–Any Landowner, public or private, rural or urban, may request and receive conservation assistance from the District. We also can provide property information about the soils, drainage, floodway, encroachment, or other soil and water resource information.

–Farmers may request assistance with implementing conservation practices, manure management or nutrient management.

–Municipal Authorities may request assistance in flood plain management, subdivision review, or land-use planning.
