BELLEFONTE — A 22-year-old Mill Hall man was killed in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 99, Spring Township, on Saturday, Aug. 15, according to Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers.

Evan Vonada was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Sayers said.

Vonada was traveling north on the roadway at 4 a.m. when his vehicle gradually traveled off the left side of the highway into the median, state police at Rockview reported.

The vehicle traveled about 330 feet in the median before striking an embankment between the overpass of nearby bridges and became airborne before traveling down the side of an embankment between the bridges, police said.

An autopsy showed that Vonada died from head trauma and the manner of death was ruled accidental, Sayers said.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Vonada was a 2016 graduate of Central Mountain High School and was very passionate about showing animals, taking numerous top honors at the Pennsylvania Farm Show for his prize winning livestock.
