MILL HALL -- Even though the district will remain in remote learning for the rest of the year and into 2021, the Keystone Central School District will continue to feed children in the KCSD community -- free of charge.
Seven breakfasts and seven lunches will be bundled for weekly pickup.
The meals are available for any child between the ages of 1 and 18. The funding for the meals is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
"The KCSD Food and Nutrition Services department has distributed 100,258 meals to families since Nov. 2. The meals are available to all families within KCSD community with children ranging from age 1 to 18, whether or not these children attend KCSD schools," said KCSD business manager Susan Blesh.
"(The) Central PA Food Bank has partnered with KCSD to provide additional non-perishable food items on a first come, first serve basis. Special thanks given to Sharon Berger, Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services, for managing the program along with all food service and additional staff who make this possible for our community," Blesh said.
Distribution will take place at Central Mountain High School and Bucktail High School on Monday, Dec. 14; Monday, Dec. 21, and Monday, Jan. 4. Bucktail will distribute from the main entrance from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Distribution at Central Mountain High School will be in the bus loop entrance in parking lot B from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
At the elementary schools and middle school, distribution will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 15, Tuesday; Dec. 15 and Tuesday, Jan. 5. Distribution at Central Mountain Middle School will take place at the bus loop entrance from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At Liberty Curtin Elementary, distribution will take place at the cafeteria from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At Renovo Elementary, distribution will take place at the main entrance from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At Robb Elementary, distribution will take place at the main entrance from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At Woodward Elementary, distribution will take place at door 4 (cafeteria) entrance from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
