BELLEFONTE--Centre County Jury Commissioner Laura Shadle is seeking the Democratic nomination for her first full term in the May 18 primary election.
Shadle was appointed to the position early last year, when Jason Moser resigned after his election to the position of Centre County Controller.
A county native, Laura was raised in Pleasant Gap, and worked for her father's small insurance business for a number of years. She studied English and philosophy at Penn State, and has been a fixture in the local arts and music community. Apart from working as executive director for the Centre County Democratic Committee, she has devoted much of her time to supporting and contributing to the local arts and various community organizing efforts around Centre County.
She now lives in Bellefonte and works on outreach for State Representative Scott Conklin of the 77th Legislative District.
