Man’s death by stabbing ruled homicide
WOODWARD — The death of a 26-year-old Spring Mills man has been ruled a homicide.
Early Thursday morning, Robert William Farwell was fatally stabbed and found outside a private residence in Haines Township, according to state police at Rockview.
Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers released the following statement on Friday:
“The autopsy has been completed on Robert Farwell. Farwell died as a result of a single stab wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide.”
Troopers responded at 4:30 a.m. to the 200 block of Mountain Avenue in Haines Township where Farwell was unresponsive outside of a residence, police said in a statement. After EMS personnel provided life-saving measures, Farwell was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.“This investigation is a homicide in relation to a domestic incident,” Centre County District Attorney Bernie Cantorna said in a statement. “There is no immediate threat to the public.”
Police said that investigation is ongoing. A spokesperson did not say if a suspect is in custody.
The investigation is being led by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop G Major Case Team in conjunction with the district attorney’s office.
