LOCK HAVEN -- Susan Peters has been promoted to deputy manager of the Clinton County Conservation District, effective May 3.
The promotion received unanimous approval by the Clinton County commissioners, who set Peters' salary at $36,297.
Several other personnel matters were acted on at Thursday's meeting of the commissioners, including:
-- Hiring Ashley Moll as Agricultural Resources Conservationist at the Clinton County Conservation District, effective May 10 at a salary of $36,297.
-- Accepting the resignations of Debra Minihan as a clerk at the office of District Judge John Maggs; Paige Sockman, adult probation officer, and Dennis Grenninger, security guard in the sheriff's department.
-- Approval of the reassignment of Amanda Guisewite from Specialty Courts Administrator to Adult Probation Officer at an annual salary of $36,318.
Commissioner Miles Kessinger responded to a question from Michelle Whitney about who is responsible to clean up wreckage following a vehicle accident.
Whitney said she noticed a section of Interstate 80 in Clinton County is littered with wreckage from vehicle accidents, and asked who is responsible to clean it up. She said she contacted PennDOT and they told her it is not their responsibility.
Kessinger said he could not answer the question but would look to the Emergency Services department for answers and let her know what he finds out.
In other business, the board:
-- Approved a bid from LMJ Contractors for cabinetry work in the large courtroom at the Clinton County Courthouse in the amount of $47,300.
-- Approved a proposal from Hoffman Ford under the Costars State Contract for purchase of a 2021 four-door Police Interceptor for the sheriff's department at a price of $34,850.
-- Approved renewal of a one-year contract with CDW-G under Costars State Contract for VM Ware maintenance and support for $22,259.
-- Approved an inmate housing agreement with the Clinton County Correctional Facility and Cameron County with a per diem rate of $70 per day.
-- Accepted the low bid from NRG Curtailment Solution for services at the Clinton County Correctional Facility.
-- At his request, approved moving Ivan McIlwain from a member of the Zoning Hearing Board to alternate member, and moving Cyndi Walker from alternate to member of the Zoning Hearing Board.
-- Approved payment of county bills in the amount of $485,536 for the two week period ending April 22 and net payroll in the amount of $295,152 for the two-week period ending April 16.
-- Opened two bids from Joe Shawley for used tools -- an air compressor and a drill press -- each $40.
The next meeting of the commissioners will be a work session at 9 a.m. Monday, May 3, followed by a voting session at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 6. All meetings are held virtually and streamed live on Facebook.
