Chapman Twp. Fire Co. to hold fundraiser
Trending
RENOVO -- The Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company has started their first of what they plan on becoming a semi-annual fundraiser which they hope will not only benefit them but will surely help local businesses.
The "Businesses Fund Drive" is a raffle in which the fire company purchased 30 $25 gift certificates from the Renovo area surrounding businesses. One winner will receive all 30 certificates.
The fundraising committee has decided instead of purchasing prizes from large retail stores they would try to help local businesses. The area businesses have been suffering through the COVID-19 pandemic so why not help them out and the fire company at the same time.
The local businesses are great at supporting the local community organizations. These businesses are always involved in funding Little League, youth organizations, booster clubs, fire companies, Bucktail Medical Center, Heritage Park, church events and the list goes on and on. The committee decided not to ask for donations but to purchase them so it becomes a win-win for the businesses and the fire company. All the money made and spent by Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company on this event will stay local. The future plan is to hold two of these drawings a year.
The fire company committee members purposely went and purchased the gift cards prior to announcing the planned Business Fund Drive as they wanted to help support local businesses and did not want the business owners offering the gift cards as donations.
Tickets are available on Facebook at Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company Station 27 or by calling Sue Smith at 570-923-1073. The ticket cost is $10 each.
The first pack of gift cards that a winner will receive will be from: Black Forest Inn, Deb's Cross Fork Inn, Dollar General, Fine Wine and Good Spirits, Green Lantern, Hairville, Hometown Distributors, K&L Auto Sales, Kettle Creek Bait Shop, Kettle Creek Inn, Kinney's Country Store, Lingles, Lions Den, Lisa's, Marks Auto Body, Mountain Top Inn, Mountain View Pharmacy, Pat Reeders Tavern, Pushing Posies, Renovo Disposal Services, Scoot's Service Center, Service Garage, Socky's Restaurant, Sportsmans Hotel Restaurant and Bar, Super Magic Car Wash, Tannery Hill Arms, LLC, Tarantella's Sudsy Pup, Tony's Hardware, Tripp's Grill, and Ziggy's Pizza.
