BELLEFONTE -- Centre County Government employees who are fully-vaccinated no longer have to wear a mask in county office buildings.
Centre County administrator Margaret Gray announced the policy during Tuesday's Centre County commissioners' meeting.
"In accordance with CDC guidelines, employees working in our building who have been fully-vaccinated are able, if they would opt so, to not wear a mask," Gray noted.
On Monday, June 28, the county will leave its "rotation" status and return to office. County buildings will then be open to the public on Tuesday, July 6. County offices will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 5. The commissioners will meet in person on Tuesday, July 6.
"A lot is happening here over the next several weeks," Gray said.
Additionally, Gray said that the Pennsylvania Department of Health will extend the AMI COVID-19 testing site through Saturday, July 3. Gray said that the testing site will remaining at the Centre County Recycling Center, 253 Transfer Road in Bellefonte.
"We want to express our thanks not only to the Department of Health and AMI, but also to the Centre County Recycling Center for providing the space for the testing to continue," Gray said.
In other business Tuesday, the commissioners:
-- Issued Proclamation No. 20 of 2021, recognizing the 75th anniversary of the Snow Shoe Lions Club.
-- Tabled a contract with TK Elevator Corporation (formerly Thyssen Krupp Elevator) to provide elevator service for 502 E. Howard St. The contract total is $78,090 for the period of April 1, 2021 to Dec. 31, 2025. That item will appear on next week's agenda, Gray said.
-- Approved an agreement with Pennsylvania Counties Health Insurance Purchasing Cooperative (PCHIPC) to provide funding to allow BMI Audit Services, LLC to complete a health insurance dependent audit before Dec. 31, 2021. The total award is $8,400.
-- Approved a dependent eligibility audit services agreement with BMI Audit Services, LLC to provide dependent auditing services through Pennsylvania Counties Health Insurance Purchasing Cooperative (PCHIPC). The total cost of the agreement is $8,400, which will be funded through PCHIPC.
-- Approved a business associate agreement with BMI Audit Services, LLC effective June 8, 2021 and shall continue in effect until terminated by either party. There is no cost for this agreement.
Those three items were moved to next week's consent agenda.
-- Approved a contract addendum with The ARC of Centre County to allow for state allocations for the remainder of fiscal year 2020-21 to provide intellectual disability services to include supported employment, home and community, transportation, and behavioral support in the amount of $19,500. This will increase the contract total from $30,208 to $49,708, which is funded as follows: State $47,416 and county $2,292 for the period of July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021. The contract addendum was approved immediately.
-- Approved an application to Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) for the Fiscal Year 2021 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG). This provides up to 50 percent reimbursement for salary and benefits of staff in Emergency Management during the period of Oct. 1, 2020 through Sept. 30, 2021. The application was moved to next week's consent agenda.
Commissioner Steve Dershem was absent from this week's commissioners' meeting.
The Centre County commissioners will meet again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8. That meeting will be held via Zoom and available through the Centre County Government website and televised live on C-NET.
