JERSEY SHORE -- The driver who was found dead in his overturned pickup truck in a ditch along Spook Hollow Road just before 9 a.m. Sunday has been identified as Reynold Snyder II, 67, of Linden, according to the Lycoming County Coroner's Office.
Reynold's body was discovered inside his overturned Ford pickup truck along Spook Hollow Road in Piatt Township just before 9 a.m. Sunday, according to Tiadaghton Valley Regional police.
Snyder lived a quarter mile north of the crash scene, investigators said.
It appeared that he likely suffered a medical episode behind the wheel as he was traveling north on the two-lane road, investigators said, adding that there were no visible signs of serious traumatic injuries to his body. He was wearing a seat belt when his truck went off the road, down a slight embankment, landing on its passenger side, according to investigators.
"A lot of things are still a mystery," a patrol supervisor with the Tiadaghton Valley Regional police said late Monday afternoon. Investigators do not know where he was coming from or where he was going. The truck's engine was cold when a passerby came upon the one-vehicle crash, leaving police to believe that the crash took place sometime overnight.
The Lycoming County Coroner's office recovered his cellphone, and the last time it was used was about 9 Saturday night, police said.
Volunteer firefighters from the borough's two fire companies used extrication tools to free Snyder's body.
Snyder's body was taken to the Forensic Center at UPMC Williamsport.
