While Clinton County's uptick in COVID-19 cases was small on Friday, the same could not be said of its neighbors.
Centre County reported 40 new COVID-19 cases to increase its total to 17,556 and Lycoming County reported 37 new COVID-19 cases to increase its total to 12,502, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Meanwhile, Clinton County added just three new cases of COVID-19 to up its total to 3,877.
Pennsylvania added 3,509 new positives, bringing the statewide total to 1,288,041.
As far as negative tests are concerned, Centre County added 104 negative results for a total of 75,061. Lycoming County added 49 negative test results for a total of 35,696. Clinton County added 17 negative test results for a total of 10,796. Statewide, there were 10,412 new negatives for a total of 5,111,559.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 1,722 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 77 since Thursday, with 476 in intensive care (up two) and 203 on ventilators (up seven). According to the DOH, hospitalizations are at their highest level since May 12.
As far as deaths are concerned, Centre, Lycoming and Clinton counties remained the same. Lycoming County has the most deaths in The Express' coverage area with 301. Centre County has seen 230 of its residents die as a result of the virus. A total of 69 Clinton County residents have died since the DOH began tracking cases and deaths at the start of the pandemic.
There were 22 new COVID-19 deaths statewide. Pennsylvania's total is now 28,180.
An estimated 94 percent of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation.
All three counties -- Centre, Clinton and Lycoming -- are at the substantial level for community transmission of COVID-19 -- the second highest on the Centers for Disease Control scale as of the CDC's latest county-level data update on Thursday afternoon.
As of Friday morning, 14,003 people in Clinton County are fully vaccinated and 1,402 are partially covered. In Centre County, 80,078 people are fully vaccinated and 6,460 are partially covered. In Lycoming County, 46,003 are fully vaccinated and 4,637 are partially covered.
According to the CDC, about 40 percent of Clinton County's entire population has received at least one dose. Centre has 59 percent and Lycoming has 45 percent.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through healthcare providers and other pharmacies listed at vaccines.gov.
