Clinton adds nine cases of COVID; Centre up 20

Clinton County added nine new cases of COVID-19, Centre County added 20 and Lycoming County added 59 cases of the deadly virus on Monday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Clinton now has 4,030 cases, Centre has 18,410 and Lycoming has 13,245.

Pennsylvania added 3,150 positives to increase the statewide total to 1,350,719.

Throughout the state, there were two new deaths reported by the DOH. A total of 28,568 Pennsylvanians have died as a result of COVID-19.

There were no new deaths reported in Clinton, Centre and Lycoming counties on Monday. The death totals look like this: Clinton (69), Centre (232) and Lycoming (309).

According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, Pennsylvania has 2,239 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 56 since Sunday, with 551 in intensive care (up 16) and 287 on ventilators (up 7). Hospitalizations are at their highest level since April 30.

An estimated 92 percent of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation.

All 67 counties in Pennsylvania are at the highest level for community transmission of COVID-19 on the Centers for Disease Control scale, according to the latest county-level data update on Sunday afternoon.

Transmission levels are based on positivity rate and cases per 100,000 people for the previous seven days. At the substantial and high levels, CDC guidance recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings.

Throughout the state 67 percent of adults are vaccinated. Pennsylvania is fifth in the nation for total doses administer, according the CDC.
