Area municipalities, groups announce trick-or-treat hours, activities
LOCK HAVEN — It’s almost here.
Almost time to put the finishing touches on the kids’ costumes and grab empty bags to be filled with candy. Halloween is just a week away and, in the mean time, many local organizations have plans to celebrate the holiday.
The following list features the trick or treat hours for various municipalities, trunk or treats organized by local groups and much more:
TRICK OR TREAT
— 5 to 8 p.m. in Wayne Township

— 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, Gallagher Township, 11837 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven.
— 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, Pine Creek Valley Christian Church, 26 Locomo Lane, Jersey Shore.
— 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 30, Quality Inn of Lamar parking lot, 31 Hospitality Lane, Mill Hall.

The Halloween Path at the Wayne Township Nature Park will be ready to receive spectators beginning Oct. 24 until Halloween. You can walk the path at your leisure and enjoy the scenes.
— The Lock Haven Fire Department will host its annual Halloween Parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 along Main Street. Come in costume and join in the parade or from the sidewalks. Refreshments and award presentations will follow the parade behind Hope Hose Fire Company on East Church Street. A live broadcast on WSQV Radio with Mark the Shark will run until noon. Over 25 participating downtown stores will offer “Shop or Treat” shopping and treats for the kids after the parade.
— The Castanea Recreation Committee and Castanea Volunteer Fire Company will host a Halloween Parade and Party on Sunday, Oct. 31. The parade will begin at 3 p.m. on Brown Street and move to McElhattan Avenue, ending at the Castanea Fire Hall. A children’s Halloween party will take place at the fire hall and feature a magic show by Richard Benninghoff, snacks and refreshments. Floats, clubs, vehicles and costumed participants of all ages are welcome to participate in the parade.
— The annual Talleyrand Fall Fest and Halloween Parade will be held beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte. The Fall Fest is sponsored by the Bellefonte Rotary and will have something for everyone — children and adults. The Fall Fest runs from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
FALL FEST CARNIVAL
— Echo Hope Assembly, 320 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall will host a Fall Fest Carnival from 12 to 3 p.m. Carnival type games, inflatable slide, a large maze, hayride, barrel train rides and free food will be available. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the carnival and wear their best costume.
— The Trick or Trot 5K will be held at the Bellefonte YMCA, 125 W. High St., in Bellefonte beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. The Third annual Trick or Trot 5K will take place in downtown Bellefonte. Race participants will receive a free T-shirt and cocktail (for those 21 or over) from Big Spring Spirits after the race. Race begins along West High St. Prizes will be awarded for most original costume, best group costume and best individual costume.
