Pine Creek Seed Farm’s corn maze, activities a big hit
JERSEY SHORE — Pine Creek Seed Farm’s new 10-acre corn maze in Jersey Shore saw a generous turnout for their grand opening, and continues to be a popular spot for fun, seasonal activities in the area.
Chris and Jennifer McCracken, new owners of the seed farm, are delighted to see members of the community come out to enjoy the festivities.
“I love the fact everyone’s coming out. It’s been fun, and community oriented,” said Jennifer.
Located directly off of the state Route 220 Pine Creek Exit in Jersey Shore, the farm has a variety of family oriented attractions, including food vendors, a pumpkin patch, hot apple cider, games, pygmy goats, contests and more.
The McCrackens were happily surprised at the numbers they saw during the grand opening weekend.
“We thought this was a good opportunity for us to kind of introduce ourselves to the community. And it’s been a much bigger hit …We were guessing (there were) somewhere around 1,000 people last weekend. Our initial goal is if we could get 100, 150 people to visit,” said Chris.
Chris, familiar with the area and with seed farming, grew up on the seed farm.
The land, once owned by his family, was then a corn seed production company.
Continuing the family legacy, the business now offers a large variety of seeds, along with other services.
The corn maze is open Fridays and Saturdays, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. for the entire month of October.
