LOCK HAVEN — Torrential rains on Saturday forced the cancellation of Lock Haven’s annual Halloween parade.
Since there was no parade, events took place indoors at the Hope Hose Fire Company on East Church Street in downtown Lock Haven. And even though festivities were moved indoors, there were plenty of ghouls and goblins. Judges voted on costumes and floats. The fire department provided candy, snacks and other refreshments.
A great time was had by all, in spite of the raindrops.
In Bellefonte, the rain didn’t stop the festivities. The Talleyrand Fall Fest was held on Saturday at Talleyrand Park. The Bellefonte Sunrise Rotary Club played host to the event in cooperation with Historic Bellefonte, Inc. The five-hour event featured inflatable bounce houses, activities, games and hayrides.
The parade began at Bellefonte Elementary School, went down Allegheny and High Streets then crossed over Water Street and ended at Talleyrand Park.

Prizes and winners were announced in each category.
For the adults, local libations were available at the “Craft Beverage Tasting” tent for taste testing. Taking part were: Big Springs Distillery, Robin Hood Brewing and Seven Mountains Winery.
There were also several food trucks and entertainment in the gazebo at Talleyrand Park.
The weather held out for the Castenea Halloween parade at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The parade was put on by the Castenea Recreation Committee and the Castenea Fire Department. It was a large turnout, as hundreds showed up to collect candy and take part in the fun.
The parade took off with a military color guard leading the way. There was also a number of families dressed in coordinated costumes, vintage and drag racing cars, the Central Mountain Middle School marching band and plenty of candy for young ones in costumes.
