Jersey Shore board acts on personnel matters, pay rates

JERSEY SHORE -- The Jersey Shore Area School Board took action on personnel issues and set pay rates for employees during its recent work session.

The board approved Nacoe Biser as head custodian for the middle school at $16.58 per hour and Brian F. Miller as a full-time custodian at $14.33 per hour.

Under the terms of the AFSCME contract, a 20 cents per hour differential will be paid to Miller for second shift work.

The board also appointed Bambi Barto as a part-time food service employee at $10.35 per hour.

The board approved the following pay rates for respective positions:

-- 10-month secretary, $33,000.

-- 12-month secretary, $39,000.

-- 12-month administrative assistant, $42,500.

-- Network-computer technician, $48,000.

-- Educational interpreter, $47,200.

-- Fitness center supervisor, $2,700.

-- Paraprofessionals, $19,000 – $25,000.

The following hourly rates were set for respective positions:

-- Part-time custodian, $12.50.

-- Crossing guard, $13.75.

-- Crossing guard substitute, $13.75.

-- Lunch room monitor, $10.

-- Hourly aide, $10.

-- Head security guard, $16.

-- Security guard, $15.50.

-- Event staff, $13.75.

-- Attendance officer, $19.50.

-- Fitness center worker, $10.25.

-- Network computer technician, $16.25.

-- Technology entry, $9.

-- Technology 1, $10.

-- Technology, 2, $11.25.

-- Technology 3, $12.25.

-- Technology 4, $13.25.

-- Head cook, senior high, $20.25 – $20.75.

-- Head cook, Jersey Shore Elementary, $19.25 – $19.75.

-- Head cook, middle school, $18.25 – $19.25.

-- Head cook, Avis/Salladasburg Elementary, $17.50 – $18.

-- Assistant cook (all buildings), $17.25 – $17.75.

The board approved a contract with the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit for computer services.

The food budget for the 2022-23 was approved.

The board renewed an agreement with the PSEA Health and Welfare Fund for vision benefits covered under the Jersey Shore Area Education Association contract.

School directors met in executive session to consider legal and personnel matters.
