Sons and Daughters of Italy donate $100K to area scholarships, organizations

LOCK HAVEN — The Sons and Daughters of Italy #146 in Lock Haven donated over $100,000 to area charities, non-profits, scholarships and more in 2023.
The Sons are donating a total of $108,082 towards scholarships and local organizations.
The money was funded through the lodge’s gambling proceeds.
Each year, the organization is required by the state to donate 60 percent of these funds, according to board President Dan Vilello.
The donations include the gross amounts between 2021 and 2022.
$13,350 will be donated as high school and college scholarships to eleven students and the rest of the money will be donated to the following organizations:

The Sons and Daughters of Italy’s council held up a grandiose check which will be dispersed among donor recipients. The check was made out to Clinton County Charitable Donations.
