Easter Egg Hunts begin today, run until holiday

Gather up the kiddos and make sure they've got their baskets and bags ready as area municipalities and organizations host their Easter Egg Hunts from now until the big holiday.

The following egg hunts will take place in our area:

TODAY

-- Big Woods Bible Church, 241 S. Hanna St., will hold its egg hunt from 10 to 11 a.m. Raffle prizes will also be available.

-- The Flemington Hi-Neighbor Committee is holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages 0-12 at Flemington Grove Park at noon, with a rain date of Sunday, April 2, at 2 p.m. Each group will have a bicycle ticket plus other prize tickets in some of the eggs. The Easter Bunny will be arriving on the fire truck and will hand out eggs to the 0-2 year olds.

-- Bald Eagle Valley Community United Methodist Church will have an outdoor hunt on the church lawn beginning at 1 p.m. The hunt is for pre-K to 11 years old and is weather dependent.

-- Flemington First Church of Christ will hold an egg hunt at 2 p.m.

SUNDAY

-- Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek, will hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza at 1 p.m. Children ages 12 and under are invited to hunt among the thousands of candy filled eggs for special prize eggs. Cookies and other sweet treats will also be available.

-- Woodward Township Recreation Committee will host is egg hunt for children up to 11 at 2 p.m. in Riverview Park. More than 4,000 eggs with candy and cash prizes will be available.

-- Howard Community Egg Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. at Howard Community Park.

APRIL 6

-- Commonwealth University-Lock Haven will host an egg hunt at 5:30 p.m. in Charlotte E. Smith Field There will be children's games and activities. If there is inclement weather, the event will be held inside Zimmerli Gym.

APRIL 8

-- Avis United Methodist Church will hold its Easter egg hunt and Easter story at 10 a.m. Kids of all ages are welcome.

-- Wayne Township Recreation Authority egg hunt, Nature Park, 191 Linnippi Trail, McElhattan from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Children 12 and under may participate. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to meet with kids.

-- New Hope Fellowship, 6436 Nittany Valley Drive, Mill Hall, will hold its Easter Egg hunt at 11 a.m. 3,500+ eggs, free lunch, golden egg prizes, facepainting, crafts and games.

-- Historic Bellefonte Inc. will host its annual egg hunt in Tallyrand Park beginning at 2 p.m., rain or shine. Sponsored activities begin at 1 p.m. Children will be divided into three age groups.

-- Crossfork East Egg Hunt at Kettle Creek Hose Fire Company grounds at 2 p.m.

-- Chapman Township Volunteer Fire Company egg hunt, Bucktail High School Grounds, 1300 Bucktail Ave., Renovo. Children ages 10 and under may participate.

APRIL 22

-- Woolrich Community Park, 10 a.m.
