The Wayne Township Landfill's annual tire collection day proved to be fruitful on Friday. The landfill collected over 4,000 tires throughout the day, from residents in Clinton County and Lycoming County residents whose township borders Clinton. The collection will continue today from 8 a.m. to noon. Residents may bring 12 small car or truck tires and landfill staff will take them off your hands for free. "We would like to thank all of the municipalities that helped their residents bring tires to our event," a release from the landfill said. Since 2003, the landfill's tire collection event has gathered over 101,000 tires.
