LOCK HAVEN -- The votes have been tallied, write-ins counted and now the Clinton County Primary Election results have been finalized by Clinton County President Judge Craig Miller.
Miller and the Board of Elections met Friday afternoon to certify the results. According to Clinton County Voter Registrar Maria Boileau, not much changed between Primary Election Day and finalizing the results.
Following a count of over 700 write-ins for an open Democratic spot for county commissioner, Joan Heller has officially filled it next to incumbent Angela Harding.
Heller received 548 write-in votes total during the Primary. Of that number, 393 were cast in-person on Election Day and another 154 were via mail-in ballot.
Along with Harding -- who received 2,156 votes -- Heller will join Republican candidates Jim Russo and incumbent Jeff Snyder.
"I am so grateful and humbled by the support shown for my reelection," Harding said about her move to the November ballot. "Thank you to each every voter who made time to cast a vote in the primary and the volunteers who gave so much time to advocate for my work. I look forward to earning your vote again in November."
Russo was the top vote-getter with 2,335, according to finalized results.
"I would like to thank everyone who helped me during this primary election, especially all the people at the polls, my wonderful committee, my wife and family, and of course all the people that supported me and all the candidates," Russo said. "My committee and I will work hard again this fall to move forward as your commissioner."
He was followed by Snyder, who received 2,219 votes. Snyder previously told The Express he is thankful for the opportunity to potentially serve another term as Clinton County Commissioner.
Another contested race of note, the Magisterial District Judge in District II.
According to official results, candidates Heidi Wright and Kristin Smith will be include on the ballot in November for the seat. Both cross-filed in the Primary.
The District II seat is currently held by Judge John Maggs, who did not seek re-election after over 20 years. The district covers Bald Eagle Township, Beech Creek Borough, Beech Creek Township, Greene Township, Lamar Township, Logan Township, Porter Township, Loganton Borough and Mill Hall Borough.
Wright was the top vote-getter on the Republican ballot, with nearly 1,000 votes in the Primary -- 959 total.
Smith managed to synch the Democratic seat by one vote. Smith received 265 votes on the ballot, according to official results. She was followed closely by Wright, who received 264 votes.
According to Boileau, the Primary Election cycle went off without a hitch.
"It takes a team of elected officials, poll workers, and county employees to make the election process run smoothly," she said. "The Clinton County Board of Elections appreciates the 175 election workers and all of the county employees who dedicate their time to ensure the accuracy and security of the election process."
Boileau told The Express official results will be uploaded to they county's website -- www.clintoncountypa.gov -- by Monday.
