Renovo FD begins to provide advanced life support

The Plymovent Exhaust system is designed so that when an emergency vehicle inside of a closed garage is started, harmful fumes will be drawn through the system so as to keep responders safe from harmful carcinogens.

RENOVO -- The Renovo Fire Department has begun providing Advanced Life Support for its ambulance service in Western Clinton County.
The service began last Friday, according to officials.
Corey Aungst has made the service available to western Clinton County as he has spearheaded the joint venture along with the fire station.
After becoming ALS certified on Friday afternoon, the services were quickly put to use on Saturday.
The RFD also made upgrades to their station recently, adding a Plymovent Exhaust System to their garage bays. The exhaust system features hoses that hook up to each of the motorized vehicles that immediately turns on when a vehicle is started, drawing potentially harmful carcinogens through the ventilation system so that the volunteers aren't exposed as they prepare to leave for calls.
An $80,000 FEMA grant was used for the purchase of the Plymovent system.
