LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Board of Commissioners accepted the resignation of its Director of Emergency Services.
Andrew Kremser, who has served in the role since 2020, submitted his resignation with his final day set at Aug. 16, 2023.
The board did not offer any comment when they unanimously approved the resignation.
The board appointed Jonathan Plessinger, the county's 911 CAD supervisor/risk management coordinator, to serve as interim director of the department.
In other business the commissioners:
-- Approved an agreement with Plum Laboratories, Inc. for a 2-week trial of portable cellphone/broadband booster to enhance connectivity in rural areas for the department of emergency services. The trial is at no cost. Plessinger told the board the department is working on securing a grant to pay for the system after the trial ends. He said the department will bring that to the board once complete.
-- Approved a contract between the county and Cobys Family Services to provide child welfare services for Children and Youth Services and Juvenile Probation from Aug. 9, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
-- Approved an agreement between the county and Pennsylvania Department of Corrections to disburse funds to the county for the State Offender Supervision Fund for the period of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027.
-- Approved a Juvenile Probation Services Grant agreement with the PA Juvenile Court Judges' Commission of the Office of General Counsel for $36,721.
-- Approved an amendment to its service agreement with Windstream Enterprise, effective Aug. 14, adjusting monthly charges to $2,797.91 per month for 36 months. Commissioner Miles Kessinger said the amendment is to ensure the phone system continues to operate. He added the cost is less than it was before.
-- Acknowledged the end of an internship for Gabe Leach as a summer employee with the Clinton County Conservation District.
-- Heard from Sheriff Kerry Stover regarding the use of the Piper Complex for the Second Annual Clinton County Night Out. Stover said the event was well attended and thanked the board for the use of its property. " I think it was another success. We heard a lot of positive feedback," Stover said.
