LH JAMS rolls into day three following York Street Hustle, Velveeta concerts

LOCK HAVEN -- The Roxy Theater was the place to be this week as the Clinton County Arts Council kicked off the 8th Annual LH JAMS Music and Arts Festival with Rockin' the Roxy.
Everyone was moving and grooving Thursday night with popular, Philadelphia-based Motown band York Street Hustle.
Before the big band, with even bigger voices, hit the stage the crowd of over 200 was treated to some slow rocking tunes by local musician Chris Mingear. All while they had the chance to enjoy food from the theater’s concession stand and purchase drinks from Oregon Hill Winery and Straub Brewery.
Soon enough, York Street Hustle exploded onto the stage playing classic after classic, with a few originals in the mix.
This was York Street Hustle's second time in Lock Haven, having closed out LH JAMS a few years prior.
York Street Hustle is composed of 10 members who play a variety of instruments and contribute to their vocals. They include Ryan Williams, Imani Roach and Stephanie Cole on vocals, Doug O'Donnell on guitar and vocals, Steve Binnig on bass, Nate Gonzalez on keyboard, Alec Meltzer on drums, Zachary Kuzel with percussion, Vince Tampio on trumpet and Hayden Wright on saxophone.
The group was founded by its bassist, Binnig, and has seen changes over the years as talented musicians come and go -- leading to the latest line up.
The group said it was excited to come back, noting how fun and energizing the crowd can be.
"The last time we were here it was really lit. We had fun. It was a beautiful night," O'Donnell said.
" It's terrific," Binnig said. "Everybody's been so nice and friendly and welcoming and we look forward to coming back again."
Roach said the sound system at the theater was great to work with, and that the crowd was energetic.
" We're super happy to be here," she said. "The sound is incredible in this theater. This is one of the better sound systems we've performed on."
Although the majority of its members can remember the energy from 2021's performance, for Cole this was her first time in Lock Haven.
"It's lovely. The sound folks are great, I feel super confident singing with this crew and everyone is super responsive which is all you can ask for," she said.
The festival continued into Friday night with the LH JAMS Block Party on Main Street where Velveeta returned to play 80s and 90s classics in the cheesiest of ways.
Today is the last chance to take in live music on Main Street, as the main LH JAMS Music and Arts Festival kicks off.
Main Street from Jay to Vesper will remain closed as arts, crafts and food vendors line the streets and multiple bands perform from 12 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on two different stages -- the Main and Grove Street Stage and the former Elks building (now the Susquehanna Event Center) patio.
Bands will include: the Central Mountain Jazz Cats at 12 p.m.; Paul Jost and the Steve Rudolph Trio at 1 p.m.; The Unstoppable Hack Beats at 2:30 p.m.; You Do You at 4 p.m.; James Supra and the Sarah Ayers Band at 5:30 p.m.; and the B-Street Band: A Tribute to The Boss at 7 p.m.
