Man dead after former employer allegedly shot him in Old Lyco. Twp.

WILLIAMSPORT -- A confrontation between an executive officer and a former employee inside the Cable Services Company at 2113 Marydale Ave. in Old Lycoming Township turned deadly when the male executive allegedly shot and killed the former male worker who had walked into the business about 10:45 a.m. Thursday, according to Lycoming Regional police.
The man shot to death has been identified as 69-year-old John Roskowski, a resident of Loyalsock Township, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said late Friday afternoon upon returning from Allentown, where an autopsy on the man's body was performed.
Roskowski died of a gunshot wound, and the death has been ruled a homicide, Kiessling said.
Investigators said Roskowski, a former partner of Cable Services, was shot just inside the front door by a company executive about 10:45 a m., Lycoming Regional police said. Investigators confirmed Friday that the executive and Roskowski are members of the same family.
Roskowski was rushed to UPMC Williamsport, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Kiessling said.
The executive, whose name has not been released, was taken from the scene, questioned at police headquarters and then released.
No charges have been filed. Police said the Lycoming County District Attorney's Office will decide what, if any, charges are filed in this case.
"There was nothing random about this," Lycoming Regional police Capt. Christopher Kriner said.
The former employee "entered the business and was confrontational" with the executive, Kriner said in a prepared statement. The executive, whose name was not released, then shot the former employee once in the chest in the company's lobby, Kriner said.
"A handgun legally belonging to the executive was seized," the investigator said.
There was no evidence that the former employee was armed with a handgun, Kriner said. When asked if the executive felt threatened, he declined to comment.
There were several other employees in the building, but no one else was involved, he said. The executive was taken to police headquarters for questioning and later released as the investigation continues, Kriner said.
When firefighters and paramedics arrived, the gunshot victim was in cardiac arrest. The emergency responders immediately began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him.
Several minutes went by before one of the emergency responders rushed out of the building to get more medical supplies out of an ambulance.
"They have a pulse," the emergency worker said.
The victim was brought out on a stretcher, loaded into the back of the ambulance and rushed to UPMC Williamsport.
Besides Lycoming Regional police, numerous other law enforcement officers responded to the business.
Yellow barrier tape was quickly put up around the front of the building and some vehicles in the company's parking lot.
In the lot, a woman sobbed as she was embraced by a man. A short time later, another man and woman hugged one another quietly in the lot.
A section of Marydale Avenue was closed for at least an hour.
All evidence related to this fatal shooting will be turned over to the Lycoming County District Attorney's Office, which will make the decision on whether the executive will face any criminal charges in this matter, Kriner said.
