MILL HALL -- The Keystone Central School District's Board of Directors will utilize an outside contractor in its search for its next superintendent.
Dr. Jacquelyn Martin announced her retirement over the summer, marking her last day as Jan. 31, 2024 -- the conclusion of her five-year contract with KCSD.
In a letter to district teachers, staff and the board Martin said the search for her replacement would be nationwide and involve hiring an outside contractor.
"The board will be hiring an outside contractor to conduct a nationwide search for the next KCSD superintendent," she said. "I plan to continue our critical work together until my last day in January."
Martin will also be handling the duties of the district's assistant superintendent following the board's decision to terminate Mark Condo during a special meeting Thursday night.
Due to it being a personnel matter, Martin said she couldn't comment on why Condo was removed.
Condo was appointed to the role earlier this year, when his previous position of HR Director was removed to make way for the assistant superintendent role.
Condo's termination took effect immediately.
The board did not offer comment regarding Condo's termination or any other matters voted on Thursday night.
