LOCK HAVEN -- The Annie Halenbake Ross Library will be opening its doors once again following its sudden closure due to water issues last week.
The library is set to reopen with normal hours on Wednesday, Sept. 13 -- just in time for its annual book sale.
"The Ross Library is reopening with most library rooms and most services on Wednesday at 10 a.m.," a release from the library said.
According to the release, the library's main stacks will be closed and accessible only to staff.
"But if you have a title of a book or DVD you'd like, we can retrieve it for you," the release noted.
The children's department, young adult section, large print and genealogy departments will be fully available, the release said.
The reopening comes just in time for the Ross Library's Annual Book Sale and fundraiser.
The event begins tonight with a special preview time. Those interested in the preview night -- which will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. -- must purchase a ticket for $20. Only 50 tickets were available, which gets you a sneak peak at what the library has collected along with wine and refreshments.
To check availability for tickets, call 570-748-3321.
The main book sale will take place Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New this year, the library has added a tent to fit the many books it has up for sale.
According to Director Tammy Garrison, the tent was needed due to the library receiving twice as many books as they had in the past.
Garrison also took the time to express her thankfulness for the library staff who helped when the building experienced water leaks last week.
“I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful the staff has been during this difficult time. They saved a lot of books and equipment,” said Garrison.
