CCEP names building after longtime member Dan Harger

LOCK HAVEN -- Over 200 individual business owners and members of the Clinton County Economic Partnership were present as its operating board and employees honored a driving force behind its success over 6 decades.
CCEP President and CEO Mike Flanagan announced the partnership's building at 212 N. Jay St., Lock Haven would be named after long-time member Dan Harger.
"The new sign will honor a person who has volunteered for many years and been involved in every industrial park we've had for the last few decades," Flanagan said. This includes the Harold Sweeney Clinton County Industrial Park, Beech Creek Industrial Park, Renovo Industrial Park and the William Garbrick Sr. Lamar Industrial Park.
"Infrastructure, transportations, outdoors, meetings galore, he’s been involved in all of it," Flanagan said of Harger.
Harger received a standing ovation by those gathered prior to offering his thanks for the honor.
Harger reflected on the progress the partnership has made through the years, and growth within Clinton County.
"When we started the partnership years ago we decided that we had to move forward.
It was a volunteer program because at the time we could not afford paid employees," Harger said. "But look what we have now, we have paid employees, who are dedicated, hardworking."
Harger stressed, "I'm not going anywhere by the way" which elicited some laughter from the crowd.
"We're strong, we believe in what we're doing and you've heard it tonight we're growing," he said.
In particular he spoke about Renovo, his hometown, and the partnership's determination to see it grow in the coming years.
"We're going to be working hard on Renovo. We're not giving up," he said. "We're going to make that town what it's always meant to be."
