LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Commissioners met briefly Thursday morning and approved the following items:
-- An appeal and hearing request to the Department of Human Services for the 2023-24 Child Welfare Needs-Based Plan and Budget (NBPB) for the Clinton County Children and Youth Department.
-- The 2023-24 Hazardous Materials Response Fund grant agreement through PEMA, covering the performance period from July 1, 2023 to Oct. 30, 2024 for the amount of $5,857.
-- The 2022-25 Emergency Management Performance grant agreement through PEMA, covering the performance period from Oct. 1, 2022 to Sept. 30, 2025 for the amount of $50,057.
-- A contract between the County of Clinton and Timothy A. B. Reitz, Esquire, to provide legal services for Clinton County Children and Youth Services, effective Oct. 4, 2023 to June 30, 2024, at a cost of $90 per hour.
-- An application for the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Program grant with the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency for the Clinton County Correctional Facility, effective Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2025, for a grant award of $288,552.
-- A 60 month lease-purchase agreement with Pitney Bowes for send-pro mailing software at a monthly cost of $379.02.
Commissioner Angela Harding spoke during the Commissioner's reports, thanking the Children and Youth Department for the recent dedication of a pavilion at the Piper Building to Hope Mitchell.
"I want to remind the community that this pavilion is available to the community for use. If you would like to have an event or meeting at that pavilion you just need to call 893-4000 and request use of that facility. We hold a lot of meetings and Children and Youth have different activities at the Hope Pavilion. We'd like to see the community utilize that more," said Harding.
She also noted that Chestnut Grove Recreation Robbie Gould Sports Youth Complex is now under construction, and congratulated the authority, County Planner Steve Gibson and everyone else involved.
Vice-Chair Jeff Snyder simply said, "Wonderful."
Chairman Miles Kessinger was not in attendance.
