FLEMINGTON -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is extending its overnight Flemington Bridge closure.
"The extension is necessary to finish touch-up painting on the parts of the structure covered by the painter's containment system while it was in place," a release from PennDOT said.
The schedule for the closures is now as follows:
-- From 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4.
-- From 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, through 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.
-- From 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, through 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6.
During these closures, traffic will follow a detour using Route 150, Route 2015 (Mill Hall Road), Route 220, and Route 120.
"This bridge preservation project will extend the life of this and two other structures in Clinton County," the release stated.
A Route 150 bridge spanning Chatham Run in Dunnstable Township and a Route 220 bridge spanning Route 2006 and Fishing Creek in Lamar Township also saw work as part of this project. Work on those bridges is complete.
HRI, Inc. of State College, Pa., is the contractor for this $3.5 million job. PennDOT anticipates reopening to two-way traffic by Thanksgiving.
