LOCK HAVEN -- Contested races in various boroughs and municipalities were featured on ballots throughout Clinton County.
The following information are preliminary results, provided by the Clinton County Voter Registrar's office:
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP
In Bald Eagle Township, Republican Shawn Adrian surpassed challenger Richard Fitzgerald to take a 4-year seat on its board of supervisors. Adrian received 325 votes. Of that number, 291 were cast in-person on Election Day and another 34 via mail-in ballot. Fitzgerald received 146 votes. Of that number, 87 were cast in-person and another 59 were made via mail-in ballot. Incumbent Kenneth McGhee, Jr. will return to his seat for another six years after receiving 412 votes in an unopposed race.
CASTANEA TOWNSHIP
In Castanea Township, Republican John Gradel snuck past opponent Terry Neff, a Democrat, to earn a 6-year term on its board of supervisors. Gradel received 164 votes. Of that number, 149 were cast in-person on Election Day and another 15 were via mail-in ballot. Neff received 159 votes. Of that number, 119 were cast on Election Day and another 40 via mail-in ballot.
FLEMINGTON
BOROUGH
Two newcomers and one incumbent have taken seats on Flemington Borough Council for a 4-year term. Incumbent Wayne Allison, a Republican, was the top vote getter on Tuesday with 243 votes. Of that number, 207 were cast in-person and another 36 were via mail-in ballot. Following Allison was Edmund Higgins, Jr., a Republican, with 197 votes. Of that number, 175 were cast in-person and 22 were cast via mail-in ballot. Filling out the final seat will be newcomer Donald Grant, a Republican, who received 156 votes. Of that number, 142 were cast in-person and 14 via mail-in ballot. Incumbent Jo Anne LaRocque, a Democrat, did not retain a seat, following Grant by just 10 votes. She received 146 total votes. Of that number 100 were cast on Election Day and another 46 via mail-in ballot. Democrat Maureen Mahon also lost out on a seat having received 108 votes. Of that number, 75 were cast in-person and another 46 via mail-in ballot.
GALLAGHER TOWNSHIP
In Gallagher Township, Republican William Mann beat out opponent Timber Timothy Lester, an Independent, for a 2-year term on its board of supervisors. Mann received 87 votes. Of that number, 77 were cast in-person and another 10 were via mail-in ballot. Lester received 19 votes. Of that number, 11 were cast on Election Day and another 8 via mail-in ballot.
LOGANTON BOROUGH
Two incumbents and a newcomer have taken seats on Loganton Borough Council for a 4-year term. Democratic incumbent Dianne Fye and newcomer James M. Jordan, a Republican, tied for top votes -- each having received 69. For Fye, 56 of those votes were cast in-person and another 13 via mail-in ballot. For Jordan, 62 of those votes were cast in-person and another 7 were via mail-in ballot. Coming in third was incumbent Chris Scaff, a Republican, who received 64 votes. Of that number, 59 were cast in-person and another 5 via mail-in ballot. Scaff also earned a seat on the Keystone Central School District Board of Directors and will have to pick one of the two positions in 2024. Coming behind Scaff, with 63 votes, was Democrat Judy Karstetter. Of that number, 47 were cast in-person and another 16 were cast via mail-in ballot. Incumbent candidate Myron Seyler, a Republican, trailed just behind Karstetter with 62 votes. Of that number, 52 were cast in-person and another 10 via mail-in ballot.
MILL HALL BOROUGH
In Mill Hall Borough, two incumbent council members have retained their seats. Republican Michelle Kunes looks to have earned a 4-year term on council after receiving 255 votes. Of that number, 216 were cast in-person and another 39 via mail-in ballot. Two hundred and fifty eight write-in votes were also tallied; however, any results from those will not be released immediately while final results are tallied by the registrar's office. Republican Derek Berry beat out challenger Michael Renninger, a Democrat, to keep his seat on council for a 2-year term. Berry received 173 votes. Of that number, 158 were cast in-person and another 15 via mail-in ballot. Renninger received 115 votes. Of that number, 78 were cast in-person and another 37 via mail-in ballot.
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP
Republican David Winkleman, Jr. has earned a 4-year term on the Pine Creek Township Board of Supervisors after beating out Democrat Dennis Greenaway. Winkleman received 539 votes, with 496 were cast in-person and another 43 via mail-in ballot. Greenaway received 304 votes, 201 that were cast in-person and another 103 via mail-in ballot. Democrat John Reese earned a 6-year term on the board after being unchallenged in the General Election. Reese received 746 votes. Of that number, 620 were cast in-person and another 126 via mail-in ballot. Democrat Dean Edwards, Jr. earned a 2-year term on the board after receiving 746 votes in an unchallenged race. Of that number, 623 were cast in-person and another 123 via mail-in ballot.
PORTER TOWNSHIP
Democrat Keith Yearick has earned a 4-year term on the Porter Township Board of Supervisors. Yearick received 211 votes. Of that number, 163 were cast in-person and another 48 via mail-in ballot. Challenger James Randall, a Republican, received 138 votes. Of that number, 126 were cast in-person and another 12 via mail-in ballot.
WOODWARD
TOWNSHIP
Incumbent Michael Fetzer, a Democrat, retained his seat on Woodward Township Board of Supervisors for another six years. Fetzer received 380 votes. Of that number, 250 were cast in-person and another 130 were via mail-in ballot. Challenger Eric Jacobs, a Republican, fell just short of Fetzer after receiving 375 votes. Of that number, 341 were cast in-person and another 34 via mail-in ballot.
