LOCK HAVEN -- It looks like Heather Alexander, Tami Brannan and Jeff Brinker have earned a spot on Lock Haven City Council, according to preliminary election results.

Alexander, a Democrat, was the top vote getter amongst five candidates. She received 631 votes -- of that number, 444 were cast on Election Day and another 187 were completed via mail-in ballot.

"I just want to simply say thank you to the City of Lock Haven voters for the confidence they are placing in me. My promise is to do the best I can for all the citizens and business owners here," Alexander said. "I look forward to the next four years."

Following Alexander was incumbent Brinker, a Republican, who received 589 votes, according to preliminary results. Of that number, 509 were cast in-person and another 80 were completed via mail-in ballot.

"I would like to thank everyone who came out and voted for me. My family, friends and team who helped me get the campaign message out, thank you. I am humbled and honored to get the nomination for Lock Haven City Council," Brinker said. "I thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of my fellow Lock Havenites across the city as I walked the sidewalks knocking on door after door throughout the campaign." Regardless of what political party one was associated with, I found that we have more things in common than one may seem. We want to make Lock Haven better than what it was the day before. I am looking forward to working with the new council in 2024 and hearing your suggestions on how we can tackle the numerous challenges that face our community. Because when we come together, we can do amazing things."

Brannan, a Democrat, will be a newcomer much like Alexander after receiving 534 votes, according to preliminary results. Of that number, 373 were cast in-person and another 161 were made via mail-in ballot.

"Thank you to all of the voters who had faith in what I could bring to the Lock Haven City Council and to the friends and supporters who were with me every step of my campaign," Brannan said. "I look forward to officially joining the council and continuing to make a positive impact within our community."

Incumbent Douglas Byerly, a Republican, fell just short of Brannan having received 510 votes, according to preliminary results. Of that number, 427 were cast in-person and another 83 were made via mail-in ballot.

Final candidate Alexander Di Costanzo came in behind Byerly with a total of 506 votes, according to preliminary results. Of that number, 351 were cast in person and another 155 were cast via mail-in ballot.
