BELLEFONTE -- The Bellefonte Area School District School Board recently discussed the next steps toward its superintendent search.
In a letter sent out to parents on Oct. 6 of this year, Superintendent Tammie Burnaford expressed her interest in not renewing her contract when it expires on June 30, 2024.
She noted, "a new superintendent should get the chance to lead this incredible district and community."
During Wednesday night's meeting, the board approved a contract with DiRocco Education Consulting, LLC to lead the Superintendent Search for the Bellefonte Area School District at a cost of $19,000 plus reimbursement for advertising, printing, travel and lodging if necessary.
"We did have an information session with this firm and I think it was pretty well unanimous among board members that they seem to be a good fit for our district, and we are very hopeful they can find a suitable replacement that matches our needs," board President Jon Guizar said.
The board listed both the abbreviated search proposal and the full proposal as attachments on their BoardDocs site.
The abbreviated proposal gives a brief overview of DiRocco Education Consulting LLC, profiling the consultants themselves.
Dr. Mark DiRocco and Connie R. Kindler both have impressive resumes.
DiRocco has 44 years serving public education, 14 years as superintendent of Lewisburg Area School District, 2016 PA Superintendent of the Year and 6 years as Executive Director of the PA Association of School Administrators.
Kindler has 50 plus years serving public education, 8 years as Superintendent of Camp Hill School District and has 6 years as Consultant for Professional Development for the PA Association of School Administrators.
