McELHATTAN -- The Wayne Township Landfill is expected to make $200,000 from Tereva Renewables liquidation.
Tereva, who the landfill is partnered with to sell carbon captured gas, is selling 646,000 rims. The landfill is proposed to earn 10 percent of the revenue.
"Tereva Renewables fully qualified, they have 646,000 D3 rims to sell, they will be liquidating soon... they might already be gone. That should generate around $2 million for them and we get 10 percent of the royalties. We're anticipating $200,000 from the sale of the rims before the end of the year," General Manager Jay Alexander said.
According to Alexander, the rim market is "pretty good right now." It is around $3.10 per unit.
The board approved to adopt Resolution 2023-04. The resolution states the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority approves the submission of a statewide local share assessment grant not to exceed $1 million to the Commonwealth Financial Authority to be used for the first phase of a compost expansion project at the Wayne Township Landfill.
In other business, the board approved the third quarter employee incentive plan with no deductions.
The board motioned to approve the nominations of Ron Brungard and reappointing Coreena Meyer to the Clinton County Conservation Board, pending confirmation by Brungard. The motion was unanimously approved.
The total sales for October amounted to $1.9 million. Operating expenses amounted to about $1.2 million. The landfill brought in 1,147 tons per day.
"We had a good month... we are at 83 percent through the year, we are at 80 percent on income from our budget and we are 70 percent on our expenses," Alexander said.
