BASD looks for input on super search

BELLEFONTE -- The Bellefonte Area School District Board of Directors is requesting parent and resident input into their search for the next superintendent of Bellefonte Area School District via a simple survey.

"In addition to your opinions about the leadership characteristics important for the district's next superintendent, they want to learn what you believe the district's strengths and challenges are," a release from Connie Kindler, of DiRocco Education Consulting, LLC: Keystone Superintendent Search Service, a firm that was hired to spearhead the search.

The survey is accessible now through Jan. 5, 2024, on the district's website, www.basd.net.

"If you have difficulty completing the survey online, contact the Bellefonte Area School District Office at 814-355-4814, ext. 3005, or lelder@basd.net to request a mailed copy or come to the District Office," Kindler said. "Your interest in and support of the School Board's highly important task of electing the next superintendent of the Bellefonte Area School District is appreciated."

Current Superintendent, Tammie Burnaford, announced in October in a letter to district families that she would not be seeking an extension of her current contract which expires on June 20, 2024.

DiRocco Consulting recently completed a search for the Keystone Central School District in Clinton County, which ended in November with its board hiring Dr. Francis Redmon.
