MILL HALL -- A local gym and wellness center made itself known with a ribbon cutting recently.

Element 26 Wellness, located at 7893 Nittany Valley Road in Mill Hall, held its grand opening yesterday morning to a wonderful turnout.

Owner Karen Dicello proudly cut the ribbon, supplied by the Clinton County Economic Partnership, to the new business.

The wellness center offers an outlet for all routes of health and fitness. Exercise classes are offered and generally run for 30 minutes with a 10-15 cooldown. Dicello says classes do vary depending on exercises.

"We have weight days, have special classes on Saturday which could be a self defense class or a bar class. Those are our basic offerings," she said.

The gym includes cardio machines -- ellipticals, treadmills and others -- and an assortment of weight equipment -- benches, squat bars and more -- in the main lobby area. An open matted gym room is used for classes as well as another room for special exercise classes. The gym allows 24-hour access for equipment.

Originally, the gym opened in February of this year. Previously, it was operated by Zack Zuback as Full Armor Wellness, LLC.

Dicello was a trainer there at that time and could not bear to see the members she helped and worked with disappear. Instead she bought the place and started her own gym, in her own way. After the gym closed down, over 60 members were without a home for their fitness needs. This group of people, she calls a family.

Flash forward to now, this family is alive, well and growing as Element 26 Wellness.

"That is how it kind of happened. I was a gym owner previously, I have been involved with fitness all my life or dance. I wanted to save the family," she said.

Dicello is also the owner of Grand Central Beer. Owning and operating two businesses is a difficult endeavor. However, none of it could be done without those she works with and helps daily.

"It is a little difficult to manage it all. That is why we need our coaches. I could not do this without our members, our staff, my family and our manager, Andrea (Young)," she expressed.

The future objective for the wellness center is to grow and help others grow in their fitness journey with it.

At Element 26 Wellness, everybody follows the same positive phrase. The gym's slogan "Iron Sharpens Iron, as one person sharpens another," is proudly worn on their sleeves. Dicillo encourages a safe, judgment free place for wellness and making positive changes with all its members.

"We're not about judgment...We are here to encourage each other, to support each other and to build each other up physically, mentally and spiritually - the whole thing," she expressed.
