MILL HALL -- James "Butch" Knauff was unanimously appointed as president of the Keystone Central School District Board of Directors during its reorganizational meeting this week.
"Thank you for having the confidence in me," Knauff said.
Knauff, who has previously served in the role years prior, said it may take him time to reacclimate himself into the role but is excited to be appointed to the position.
"I plan on being as open as possible," he said. "I think we need to do a better job of working together and being the group of 10 we are."
Knauff said he would be sending out information about the various committees each member may take part in so everything can be settled and ready before meetings begin in January.
The board appointed multiple other members to various positions on Thursday night that included:
-- Roger Elling, Vice president
-- Tracy Smith, PSBA liaison
-- Board Secretary Tracy Long, PSBA employee relations
-- Jeff Johnston, Center Intermediate Unit #10 representative
All positions will run for one year, from Dec. 7, 2023 until the re-organizational meeting in 2024.
On top of the appointment of members to various positions, three new and two returning board members were sworn in for their terms during Thursday night's meeting. This included incumbents Johnston and Polly Donahay along with newcomers Dr. William "Bill" Baldino, Tom Cannon and Chris Scaff.
