LOCK HAVEN -- The Clinton County Tourism Grant is officially open, with interested organizations able to submit an application online.
Clinton County Economic Partnership Chamber/Tourism Director Kira Rosamilia and county Planner/Zoning Officer Matt Croak provided a brief announcement about the program during the Clinton County Board of Commissioners' meeting Thursday morning.
"The Clinton County Tourism Grant is now available and extends online until Feb. 29 at 5 p.m.," Rosamilia said. "The grant is designated to promote overnight stays and entice visitors beyond a 50 mile radius to come explore what we're all about."
Croak said the application may be found by visiting the county's website, www.clintoncounypa.gov, and clicking on the county planning page.
"Before you get to the application the guidelines and regulations are there," Croak said. "Once you're in the page, everything can be completed online."
"We are not accepting hard copies this year, everything must be submitted electronically," he continued. "We're trying to simplify this as much as we can."

At a prior meeting in December, Rosamilia and Croak provided more information about the updated grant program which includes:
-- Purposeful Transformation: The Shift from Clinton County Tourism Recreation Grant to Clinton County Tourism Grant signifies the commitment to supporting a wide range of projects aimed at enhancing tourism experiences in the region.
-- Funding for Growth: The grant continues to be funded through a percentage of the county's tax on lodging, reflecting the community's dedication to investing in initiatives that foster tourism and contribute to economic development.
-- Open for Diverse Proposals: With the new name comes an expanded scope. The Clinton County Tourism Grant remains open to a variety of proposals, including marketing promotion, product development, attraction enhancement, special events, exhibits and festivals, all geared toward driving overnight travel to Clinton County.
-- Online Application Updates: Rosamilia and Croak announced the grant application and completion report will be updated for online submission only, streamlining the process for applicants and ensuring efficiency in evaluation and reporting.
"We look forward to seeing all of the applications begin," Rosamilia said.
Both she and Croak noted after the closing period, the grant committee will take about a week to review the applications before announcements are made.
In other business the commissioners:
-- Approved an RAC-P application for the Bald Eagle Valley Trail Phase 3 construction at a cost of $500 for an application fee.
-- Approved an Owner of County Agreement for the Central Counties Youth Center, providing an annual Clinton County allocation of $179,915 for the period of Jan. 1, 2024 to Dec. 31, 2024. The cost will be paid in four installments of $44,728.75.
-- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding between the county and Council 86 of AFSCME, amending the collective bargaining agreement for court-related and court-appointed employees, corrections officers and maintenance workers at the Clinton County Correctional Facility to increase the starting salary by $1,463 annually, effective the first pay period of 2024.
-- Appointed Abigail Roberts to the Clinton County Housing Authority for a five-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2028.
-- Appointed Amy Corbett to the Ross Library Board for a three-year term, expiring Jan. 1, 2027.
-- Reappointed Richard Conklin and Dan Harger to the Clinton County Sewer Authority Board for three-year terms, expiring Dec. 31, 2026.
-- Approved the retirement of Thomas Livingston to the Clinton County Recreation Authority, effective Dec. 31, 2023.
-- Appointed Jaime Kessinger to the Clinton County Recreation Authority for a five-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2028.
-- Appointed Miles Kessinger to the Clinton County Revolving Loan Board for a one-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2024.
