BELLEFONTE -- The Centre County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously in their recent meeting to award $26,434,910 in bids to contractors for the former Centre Crest building in Bellefonte.
The plan is to renovate the former nursing home facility into various county human services departments.
The bid awards for the contractors include:
-- General trades - G.M. McCrossin, Inc., $13,097,410 (including $7,550 for alternates and $109,642 in allowances)
-- HVAC - Ainsworth-Enginuity, $6,449,000
-- Plumbing - Ainsworth-Enginuity, $2,437,000 (including $30,000 in allowances)
-- Electrical - Hallstrom-Clark Electric, $4,451,500 (including $11,000 in allowances)
The building is expected to open sometime in the summer of 2025 if all goes according to plan.
